Research Emphasis

My research focuses on the landscape ecology of the Sand Dune Lizard (Sceloporus arenicolus).  I am developing a spatially explicit landscape model to predict presence/absence of the Sand Dune Lizard, and plan to analyze the effects of habitat fragmentation (caused by oil and gas development) on the distribution of S. arenicolus in New Mexico.  For my analyses, I rely heavily on GIS and am using Fragstats to compute the spatial statistics necessary for the development of my model.
